Role Overview

Responsibilities
- Manage Correspondence: Screen, prioritize, and route incoming mail, email, and phone calls to appropriate staff members; draft and prepare routine responses.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and hard copy filing systems for federal documents, ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with record retention policies.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule appointments and meetings for department staff, coordinate travel arrangements, and manage department calendars.
- Data Management: Process and enter data into federal databases and management information systems; perform routine data verification and error checking.
- Office Operations: Order and maintain office supplies; assist visitors and employees with general inquiries and directions.
- Form Processing: Assist in the preparation and review of standard federal forms and applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of general administrative experience, preferably in a government or healthcare setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with federal case management software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with Veterans, their families, and federal employees.
