We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Pension Analyst to join our team. While our headquarters is located in the heart of Chicago, IL, this position offers a fully remote work environment, allowing you to contribute to the future security of federal employees from anywhere in the United States.
As a key member of our Pension Plan administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of federal pension calculations and communications.
Responsibilities
- Analyze pension data and retirement eligibility for federal employees covered under FERS and CSRS plans.
- Conduct detailed reviews of retirement applications to ensure strict adherence to federal regulations and OPM guidelines.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate guidance to retirees regarding their pension benefits and survivor options.
- Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to update pension plan documents and policy updates.
- Maintain accurate records of pension projections and beneficiary designations in secure systems.
- Participate in remote training sessions and team meetings to stay current on legislative changes affecting federal retirement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Federal Retirement Systems (FERS, CSRS, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of ERISA laws and government retirement regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pension administration software.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex pension information to non-technical audiences.
- Must be willing and able to work part-time (e.g., 20-25 hours per week) with flexibility for remote work.
