Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure veteran medical records in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Process and digitize new veteran benefit applications with 99.5% accuracy
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to update service-connected disability records
- Conduct regular audits of veteran files to ensure data integrity
- Respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests within statutory deadlines
- Train staff on secure record-keeping protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years experience in records management or healthcare administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written communication abilities for documentation
