Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and confidential digital and physical records for city departments, ensuring data integrity and compliance with government regulations.
- Public Assistance: Assist residents with applications for permits, licenses, and government benefits, providing clear instructions and support.
- Customer Service: Answer incoming inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Data Entry: Process and verify information entered into government databases, ensuring high accuracy and timeliness.
- Administrative Support: Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and meeting materials for department heads.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to local, state, and federal laws regarding privacy and public records.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with government database software.
- Attributes: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Availability: Ability to work a part-time schedule, including occasional evening or weekend shifts.
