Responsibilities
- Review and process pension benefit applications and inquiries with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly pension disbursements and perform necessary reconciliations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and active employees regarding pension plan questions.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal retirement regulations and internal administrative policies.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and data within the retirement management system.
- Collaborate with the full-time pension team to resolve complex benefit issues and escalations.
- Perform routine data entry and document filing to support department operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or financial processing.
- Strong attention to detail with the proven ability to detect and correct errors in data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
