Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide Tier 2 support to internal staff, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Network Maintenance: Monitor local area networks (LAN) and wireless connectivity to ensure optimal performance.
- Asset Management: Assist in the inventory control, tracking, and maintenance of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to DC government cybersecurity protocols and assist in the implementation of data protection measures.
- Help Desk Assistance: Field incoming support tickets, troubleshoot user problems, and document resolutions.
- System Updates: Perform routine updates and backups on servers and workstations to maintain system integrity.
- Training: Conduct basic training sessions for staff on new software or system updates.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with non-technical staff.
- Availability: Must be available to work a part-time schedule, typically 20-25 hours per week.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including fingerprinting, as required for government employment.
