Responsibilities
- Network & Infrastructure Support: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), including hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Technical Assistance: Provide expert-level support to state employees, resolving complex hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Security Compliance: Assist in enforcing data security protocols and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- System Updates: Manage software updates, patches, and security scans to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, incidents, and resolutions to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Vendor Liaison: Communicate with external vendors regarding service levels, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support or network administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings or weekends as required by project needs.
