Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive system analysis to identify business requirements and develop innovative technical solutions.
- Design, code, and implement software applications in accordance with state coding standards and security protocols.
- Lead code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers and analysts within the department.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure IT projects align with agency goals and timelines.
- Maintain and optimize existing legacy systems to ensure maximum uptime and data integrity.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and user manuals.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and system security audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis and software development.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or .NET.
- Experience with database management systems (SQL, Oracle) and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced government environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to various state facilities if required.
