We are urgently hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join the California Department of Technology. This is a high-visibility role focused on protecting state assets and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
- Lead the investigation, response, and remediation of critical security incidents.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NIST and ISO frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT development teams to integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor security alerts and analyze threat intelligence feeds to proactively identify risks.
- Provide expert guidance on risk management and compliance requirements for state agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance.
- Certification: CISSP, CISM, or CEH preferred (Active Secret clearance a plus).
- Deep knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and FedRAMP compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting.
