Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to state employees regarding pension eligibility, vesting, and benefit projections.
- Assist in the accurate calculation and processing of pension-related documents and forms.
- Maintain and update member records within the state pension database with a high degree of precision.
- Conduct research and analysis of pension plan data to support policy review and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with full-time staff to streamline pension processing workflows and improve member experience.
- Ensure strict adherence to all state regulations and internal audit standards regarding retirement funds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Previous experience with state government pension systems or similar retirement plans is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced functions in Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and financial information.
