Responsibilities
- Process and review pension benefit claims and retirement applications with high accuracy.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of employee eligibility requirements and contribution records.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and active employees regarding pension inquiries and plan details.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including ERISA and state pension laws.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare monthly reports and maintain accurate pension databases.
- Assist in the annual audit preparation and documentation of pension plan activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, benefits administration, or a similar finance role.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and government pension regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to a non-technical audience.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
