Responsibilities
- Process and verify pension plan applications, retirement requests, and benefit adjustments with high accuracy.
- Conduct comprehensive research on member accounts, service credits, and benefit calculations.
- Provide superior customer service by responding to inquiries regarding pension status, vesting, and payouts.
- Reconcile financial records and ensure strict adherence to state laws and retirement system policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex discrepancies and member issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation for all pension transactions and member files.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, government benefits, or financial customer service.
- Strong working knowledge of retirement plans, state government regulations, and actuarial principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and pension administration software (e.g., SAP, Peoplesoft).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with absolute confidentiality and integrity.
