Responsibilities
- Process and review pension benefit applications and retirement eligibility requests with high accuracy.
- Conduct data entry and maintain precise records for various state pension plans.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees and beneficiaries regarding pension calculations and status updates.
- Assist in the reconciliation of pension account statements and payroll deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state government regulations, including ERISA and local statutes.
- Collaborate with the payroll and benefits teams to resolve complex pension discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in government, finance, or customer service is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with sensitive financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary government security clearance.
