Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units using advanced CAD/RAD systems during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and digital records in compliance with protocols
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and telephone communications infrastructure
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-jurisdictional events
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure during crisis situations
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- Pass comprehensive background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
