Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls with empathy and urgency
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate emergency notification systems and databases
- Participate in mandatory scenario-based training exercises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn complex systems
- Valid California driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Must be available for flexible shifts including nights/weekends
