Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners and metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints to identify and respond to potential threats
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining firm security standards
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed records of screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Continuously update knowledge of TSA procedures and emerging security threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid driver's license (if required for airport access)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure situations
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
