Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from the public, 911, and police scanners, assessing the nature and urgency of each emergency.
  • Dispatch police units and fire services to appropriate locations using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Provide accurate information to callers and maintain detailed logs of all incidents and communications.
  • Coordinate with field units, traffic management, and other city agencies to ensure a coordinated response.

  • Assist in the processing of incident reports and data entry.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess a valid Green Card.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
