Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, power tools) under supervision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and park facility upkeep
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews on time-sensitive municipal projects
- Document daily work activities and material usage
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Preferred: 6 months construction or public works experience
