Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on parks, trails, and recreational facilities including mowing, irrigation checks, and debris removal
- Assist with street repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and storm drain clearing to ensure public safety
- Operate light machinery (mowers, tractors, sweepers) and hand tools for landscaping and cleanup projects
- Support special events setup/teardown and emergency response during weather incidents
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and proper waste disposal procedures
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, construction equipment, or municipal operations preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience a plus
- Strong work ethic with punctual, dependable attendance
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and maintain detailed logs
- Pass background check and drug screening as per city policy
- Must be available for weekend/evening shifts during emergencies
