Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize physical/digital municipal records using RMS software
- Process public records requests within legal timeframes
- Implement document retention schedules per NC state guidelines
- Coordinate records destruction procedures with legal team
- Train department staff on records management best practices
- Generate monthly compliance reports for audit purposes
- Support disaster recovery planning for vital documents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- 1+ years records management or administrative experience
- Familiarity with NC Public Records Law (G.S. 132)
- Proficient in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Basic knowledge of records retention schedules
- Valid NC driver's license
