Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and organization of public data to support policy development and decision-making processes.
- Conduct research on state regulations and industry trends to provide comprehensive briefs for senior management.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records, ensuring compliance with state privacy and data retention policies.
- Prepare detailed reports, memos, and presentations for internal stakeholders and legislative bodies.
- Communicate effectively with internal staff, external vendors, and the general public to resolve inquiries and facilitate workflow.
- Support the planning and execution of community outreach events and public information sessions.
- Perform general office administration duties, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in administrative support, data entry, or government operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new database management systems quickly.
- Strong understanding of Texas state government structure and basic knowledge of government procurement or compliance procedures is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlines and confidentiality standards.
- Must be able to work a part-time schedule (approx. 15-25 hours per week), including some evenings or weekends as required by departmental needs.
