Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced security screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems
- Perform pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by TSA protocols
- Monitor airport operations and identify potential security threats through behavioral detection techniques
- Operate and maintain screening equipment with minimal downtime
- Provide courteous customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Document security incidents and screening activities using TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer literacy for equipment operation and reporting
- Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of TSA Security Training Academy
