Responsibilities
- Conduct security screenings of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo in accordance with strict TSA security protocols and regulations.
- Operate advanced X-ray screening equipment and metal detectors to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Identify, separate, and secure prohibited items (weapons, explosives, hazardous materials) while minimizing passenger inconvenience.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness to detect suspicious behavior and report anomalies immediately to supervision.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers, answering questions and assisting with accessibility needs.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including wearing provided protective gear and maintaining personal hygiene standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team to ensure efficient throughput at security checkpoints.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of completion from an accredited institution.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a medical examination, including vision and hearing tests.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public and law enforcement.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
