Responsibilities
- Process Pension Requests: Review, verify, and process retirement benefit applications, withdrawals, and beneficiary changes with a high degree of accuracy.
- Retiree Support: Answer complex inquiries from retirees and beneficiaries regarding eligibility, calculations, and payment schedules during night operations.
- Data Integrity: Maintain and update member records in the state pension database, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Compliance Auditing: Conduct routine audits of pension accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to ERISA and state laws.
- System Management: Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the pension administration software systems during off-peak hours.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the day-shift team to transfer critical cases and ensure seamless service continuity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration, pension processing, or actuarial support preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of government regulations, ERISA, and state-specific pension laws is highly desirable.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be available to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the department.
