Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for 15,000+ state employees
- Process retirement applications and calculate pension benefits with precision
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Texas state pension regulations
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees and active employees
- Conduct annual pension plan valuations and reporting
- Collaborate with investment and accounting teams on plan metrics
- Develop educational materials for retirement planning workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and Texas pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or ASPPA designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information
- Experience with public sector retirement systems preferred
