Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including benefit calculations, eligibility verifications, and participant communications
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (ERISA, IRS, CalPERS policies)
- Analyze pension fund data and prepare financial reports for stakeholders
- Coordinate with employers and members to resolve complex benefit inquiries
- Implement strategic plan enhancements to improve retirement outcomes
- Collaborate with investment and actuarial teams on fund performance analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and CalPERS policies
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Oracle HCM)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
