Responsibilities
- Administer municipal pension plans in compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Texas state regulations
- Process member contributions, distributions, and loan requests with 100% accuracy
- Conduct benefit calculations and provide retirement counseling to plan participants
- Prepare annual financial statements and regulatory filings for the pension board
- Develop and implement plan amendments in collaboration with legal counsel
- Oversee investment reconciliations and actuarial reporting processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension administration experience in public/government sector
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or ASPPA designation required
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NBS)
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415 limits, and Texas pension laws
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex financial details
