Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pension fund operations including benefit calculations, disbursements, and participant communications
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and ensure adherence to IRS, DOL, and Colorado PERA regulations
- Develop and implement strategic asset allocation plans aligned with long-term liability projections
- Lead participant education workshops on retirement planning and investment options
- Collaborate with external investment managers to monitor fund performance and risk metrics
- Prepare comprehensive annual reports for the Board of Trustees and regulatory bodies
- Manage vendor relationships for administrative services and technology platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension administration experience with public sector or multi-employer plans
- SPBA, QKA, or CEBS certification required
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitPro)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and Colorado PERA regulations
- Experience managing investment portfolios exceeding $1B in assets
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
