Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including eligibility calculations, benefit payments, and participant communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension statutes
- Conduct financial modeling and actuarial valuations for multi-million dollar retirement portfolios
- Manage participant inquiries, disputes, and retirement counseling services
- Oversee plan recordkeeping systems and data integrity across 15,000+ participants
- Collaborate with investment teams to align retirement strategies with fiduciary responsibilities
- Develop policy recommendations for legislative review and board approval
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration experience with defined benefit plans
- SPCE (Society of Pension Consultants) or QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator) certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415 limits, and Georgia OCGA Title 47
- Experience with actuarial valuation processes and funding policy development
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
