Responsibilities
- Manage daily pension fund operations including contributions, distributions, and record-keeping
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and NYC pension fund policies
- Analyze financial data to prepare quarterly and annual reports for oversight committees
- Collaborate with external auditors and legal teams for annual compliance reviews
- Develop retirement plan educational materials for municipal employees
- Monitor fund performance and recommend investment strategy adjustments
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding benefits and retirement planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or CFA designation preferred
- Experience with NYC municipal pension systems highly desirable
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
