Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for 50,000+ state employees ensuring compliance with ERISA and Texas state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and member inquiries with 98% accuracy
- Develop and implement pension plan documentation, procedures, and compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with investment teams to ensure funding stability and actuarial soundness
- Conduct training sessions for new retirees on benefit options and financial planning
- Analyze legislative changes and implement policy adjustments within 30-day deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Texas pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitPro)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Professional certification (CEBS, QKA, or similar) preferred
