Responsibilities
- Analyze pension contribution calculations and benefit eligibility using specialized software
- Assist in preparing quarterly financial reports and regulatory filings for CalPERS compliance
- Support investment portfolio monitoring and performance analysis for $10B+ assets
- Research pension legislation and policy changes to ensure operational alignment
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve retirement plan inquiries and member issues
- Contribute to process improvements through data analysis and documentation updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in pensions, benefits, or financial analysis
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and basic SQL knowledge
- Familiarity with government pension regulations (ERISA, CalPERS) preferred
- Strong quantitative aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills for report preparation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
