Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end pension plan administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA, TSP, and OPM regulations for federal retirement programs
- Conduct comprehensive benefit counseling for pre-retirement and retired federal employees
- Analyze pension fund performance and prepare regulatory compliance reports
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams to resolve complex pension-related inquiries
- Develop and deliver educational workshops on retirement planning and pension optimization
- Implement system upgrades to enhance pension plan administration efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or federal benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS, TSP) and OPM guidelines
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations and financial data
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Federal background investigation clearance eligibility
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification highly desirable
