Responsibilities
- Administer defined-benefit pension plans including contribution calculations and member eligibility reviews
- Ensure compliance with federal/state pension laws and IRS reporting requirements
- Manage retirement disbursements, survivor benefits, and plan amendments
- Conduct complex actuarial valuations and funding strategy analysis
- Collaborate with HR departments on employee retirement education and counseling
- Maintain accurate participant records and audit documentation
- Develop retirement plan communications for diverse stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and pension accounting standards
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
- Government/public sector experience strongly preferred
- Series 65 or 7 certification a plus
