Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits and retirement eligibility determinations
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (ERISA, NC Retirement Systems)
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments
- Conduct audits and investigations for pension plan compliance
- Develop educational materials for plan participants
- Collaborate with HR departments and government agencies
- Prepare regulatory reports and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or government finance experience
- Strong knowledge of retirement regulations (ERISA, IRS 401k rules)
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, Oracle)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, ASPA) preferred
