Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, calculations, and benefit distributions for state employees
- Provide expert guidance on retirement options, contribution strategies, and compliance regulations
- Process complex retirement applications and conduct benefit verification audits
- Collaborate with HR departments and external agencies on pension-related matters
- Maintain accurate participant records using specialized pension administration software
- Develop educational materials and conduct virtual retirement planning workshops
- Ensure compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes and federal ERISA regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement services experience
- Proficiency with pension management software (e.g., Millennium, NBS)
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS regulations, and state pension laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to complex financial calculations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday shifts) with self-discipline for remote work
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
