Responsibilities
- Administer pension enrollment processes and benefit calculations for state employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and New York State pension laws
- Conduct weekend client consultations for retirees and active members
- Manage pension disbursement systems and resolve payment discrepancies
- Prepare quarterly reports for regulatory agencies and stakeholders
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance metrics
- Develop educational materials for pension plan participants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., UltiPro, Oracle HCM)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and NY State pension codes
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial details
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex pension concepts
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CFA, CPA) preferred
