Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees ensuring compliance with federal and Ohio regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution schedules
- Conduct audits of pension records to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and agency partners
- Prepare detailed financial reports and actuarial summaries for oversight committees
- Collaborate with legal teams to update plan documents and policies
- Implement system upgrades for pension administration software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Ohio pension statutes
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
