Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications
- Provide clear, concise information to field units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-jurisdictional events
- Remain calm under pressure while managing high-stress situations
- Adhere to all department policies and FCC regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear criminal history with no felony convictions
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
