Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls using multi-line telephone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD)
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel via radio communication
- Enter and maintain accurate data in law enforcement databases
- Monitor multiple radio channels simultaneously while prioritizing calls
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing assessment required)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- No felony convictions
- Pass background check and drug screening
