Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical personnel using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide emergency medical instructions via telephone
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and maintain secure communications
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid California driver's license
- Experience in customer service or emergency communications (preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Must be 21 years old at time of appointment
