Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units and coordinate emergency response protocols
- Maintain detailed logs and digital records of all communications
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment during high-pressure situations
- Provide crisis intervention and critical information to callers
- Collaborate with multi-agency responders during emergencies
- Complete state-mandated certification training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Type minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Clear speaking voice and strong communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Harris County
- No felony convictions
