Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units, fire departments, and medical services using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incident details
- Provide critical information to field units and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Operate radio equipment, telephones, and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Remain calm and professional during critical incidents and high-stress scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of application
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- Pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Successful completion of written and oral exams
