Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public and officers
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch police units
- Enter and maintain accurate data in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information during emergency situations
- Coordinate with other public safety agencies (fire, EMS)
- Maintain calm demeanor under high-pressure conditions
- Complete all required academy training modules
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (testing required)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
