Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Coordinate with patrol units, fire departments, and EMS during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per NIMS standards
- Provide clear, concise information to first responders using radio protocols
- Execute multi-agency communication during major events (e.g., severe weather, large gatherings)
- Operate multiple communication channels simultaneously while maintaining composure
- Adhere to HIPAA/FERPA regulations when handling sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college coursework preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (certification test required)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with multi-line phone systems or emergency communications preferred
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish candidates strongly encouraged)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
