Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units using multi-channel radio equipment
- Enter and maintain accurate incident data in digital records
- Coordinate with EMS, Fire, and other emergency services
- Operate emergency notification systems during critical incidents
- Maintain strict confidentiality and procedural compliance
- Participate in continuous training and drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid NJ driver's license
- Pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified test required)
- Ability to work rotating shifts (24/7 coverage)
- Clear speaking voice and calm demeanor under pressure
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
