Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and professionalism
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police officers and emergency services
- Enter and update information in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Complete all required training modules to achieve dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (35+ WPM)
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions during emergencies
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work
- No felony convictions
