Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire, and medical units using computer-aided dispatch systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized emergency software
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex emergency scenarios
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Minimum age 18 at time of hire
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
