Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate field units
- Maintain detailed incident logs and computer-aided dispatch records
- Provide critical information to officers, firefighters, and medical teams
- Remain calm during high-stress situations and make sound decisions
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental procedures
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Clear criminal history and drug-free record
- Strong multitasking abilities under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- Fluent in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
