Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Enter and update information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Collaborate with officers and first responders during active situations
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Adhere to all NJ Office of Emergency Management protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, CAD systems)
- Fluent in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
